Founding Steering Committee Finalizes Digital-First Academic Charter

The charter establishes ACLAS as a digital-first institution with AI literacy embedded across all disciplines.

The Founding Steering Committee has finalized ACLAS's digital-first academic charter, the document that defines how teaching, assessment and academic governance work at the college. The charter establishes ACLAS as a digital-first institution: core learning resources, student records and academic communication are digital by default, while seminars, mentorship and examinations anchor study at the Bishkek campus.

A central commitment of the charter is AI literacy across all disciplines. Every ACLAS student — whether studying artificial intelligence, business, psychology or the humanities — learns how AI systems work, where they fail, and how to use them responsibly, alongside clear academic-integrity rules for AI-assisted work.

The charter also codifies the 3+N academic model: three foundation years in liberal arts and sciences with progressive specialization, followed by an immersion year of industry, research or venture work. It will guide program approval and quality review for the founding cohort, whose classes are planned to begin in September 2028, subject to completion of Ministry of Education licensure.
